Drone Technology

Drones are an extended version of the flying machines that operate without any pilot onboard the aircraft, yet capable of following a flight plan.

It is characterized for their robust, agile, and reusable nature making them the flying machine of choice for many demanding applications.

A short history

The use of drones dates back to First World War where Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) otherwise called as the pilotless aircrafts, were tested for their application in warfare.

Overtime, UAV applications shifted towards the reconnaissance of causalities in the various demanding situations during natural disasters such as earthquakes, land slides and Tsunami. They were widely used in aerial monitoring of land masses and locating causalities stuck in debris areas unreachable by humans.

What's today?

In recent times, drones are widely used for a range of applications spanning from agriculture, search and rescue, aerial mapping, inspection of pipes, tunnels and high raise electrical lines.

The most common application of drones is aerial photography and videography, where cameras are mounted on a gimbal that captures the environment.

What to Expect?

The Drone Technology course offers an introduction to the UAVs, how they are built, the science behind it and the components that make up the drone.
